A transformative and healing weekend of connection

Experience a healing space of women supporting each other as we step boldly into our own courage.  Courage to be seen, to be heard, to be vulnerable and to move from a place of an open heart.

Join Michelle Freeman, Sharon Pyle, Nienke Berghuis, and Kate Barzdo on a journey of self discovery and connection in the Noosa Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.

Each day unfolds with a beautiful sunrise guided meditation and breathwork followed my an introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Mysore practice.  Beginners are welcome as we explore how to develop a self practice and truely connect to our breath.

Our days are spent, depending on the day, exploring yoga philosophy from a modern day perspective, chanting, sacred cacao circle, sound healing and voice exploration.  Our voice workshops with Kate and Nienke are designed to empower and help you fall in love with exploring your own voice.

What retreat guests say

“This was my Second Yoga retreat experience with Michelle & Sharon. What an enlightening experience it was. Very comfortable energy with deep soul & spiritual connection. We were encouraged to dig deep & share our most courageous challenge to date thus far. Being surrounded with those you trust this was easier to do than expected. Letting go of the things that no longer serve us in life is very healing. Thank you Michelle for your amazing wealth of knowledge that you dedicate to your yoga teaching attached with Love & understanding to all of us Individually. To Sharon you are the most gentle loving & caring person I know. Also I must commend you on your scrumptious food that was continually fueling our bodies with love & energy every day. So appreciative for having you beautiful ladies in my life…. trade marked as Soul Sisters. Namaste🙏🏼 “

What retreat guests say

“The retreat came at the perfect time, I felt rather frazzled and overwhelmed after a crazy year. The 4 days was a beautiful opportunity to be still and listen to what my body was saying – rest – recharge – self-care. Michelle and Shaz create a perfect environment where I felt completely relaxed and inspired all at the same time. The yoga was just perfect, the setting beyond beautiful and just an amazing experience.
I highly recommended any of Michelle’s retreats. Your body, mind and soul will thank you. Love and light. “

“Michelle Freeman is a wonderful yoga instructor and an all round gorgeous human being. I have practiced with, and trained under her, for a few years now and just recently had the pleasure of going on her Pumpkin Island retreat. Every one of these offerings has been life changing for me.

Michelle creates opportunities for growth by providing a nurturing environment for everyone to feel confident embracing their own experience. I truly can’t recommend Michelle’s teachings strongly enough.”

“I participated in a yoga retreat in Bali in 2019 run by Michelle. Our group stayed at The Villa Buddha on the north coast. It was a fabulous week. Lots of yoga and yoga related activities every day, and beautiful food cooked by local ladies made for an amazing experience. Michelle did an outstanding job with the organisation of the retreat.”

What retreat guests say

“Michelle has been a favourite teacher of mine for about 5 years now, and recently I went on her retreat in Bali – it was an amazing experience learning the Asana primary series with 9 other beautiful souls, in a peaceful and picturesque location. Michelle’s relaxed but serious style, soft nature and attention to detail enables her to transfer her vast knowledge in a manner that motivates you. I came home after a 7 day retreat that involved daily yoga practise and yoga workshops, clean eating, fun excursions and lots of meditation, a much more confident and healthy version of myself.”

What retreat guests say

“I began a journey with Michelle as my yoga instructor just over four years ago. Having only started to seriously commit to yoga that month Michelle had organised a retreat to the Philippines. It was an adventure / experience of yoga and culture that was so enjoyable and enriching that when we arrived back I told Michelle “If you organise any more retreats count me as Auto-include” I’ve now been to Bali with Michelle and Pumpkin Island twice, always with new people and new experiences.
This latest adventure back to Bali, in my experience was the retreat I enjoyed the most. We had such an awesome time enjoying the wonderful villa, yoga and workshops every day, learning Balinese from the beautiful and warm locals who cooked all our perfect meals and looked after us for our stay. Michelle’s ability to convey knowledge and demonstrate postures, and all the cool tips and tricks, made the learning easy and fun. Michelle’s philosophy, guiding principles and demeanour made me feel like my entire consciousness expanded. It was everything I wanted from a yoga retreat times two. I came away energised and inspired.
Thank you Michelle.”

Find your calm

In this busy world, it can be challenging to even recognize what it feels like to be calm, relaxed, centered and aware.  We can often be so busy, we forget what it feels like to truely relax.

Learn how to find your inner calm again through connection, a nurturing environment and self care.

Discover a path towards living a rich and meaningful life and learn skills that help you find clarity and inner wisdom

We all have that wisdom inside of us that knows how we want to live an expansive life.  Through yoga, guided meditations, mantra, breathwork, transformational exercises and journaling, you get clear and understand how to be intentional in living life in a more conscious and awake life, aligned with who you are and what you desire.

Who We Are

We have your best experience in mind, as we create the space for a memorable and healing journey into the self.   Through discussions, group exercises, daily yoga and meditation practice, chanting and voice workshops, long walks through the bush, sauna sessions, fireside chats and so much more, you’re experience is sure to elevate your way of being.

Kate has been a singer for as long as she can remember and first picked up the guitar when she was 14.  She has done everything musical short of playing in an orchestra… from folk to blues and cafes to weddings and community choirs.

Her journey has more recently carried her back to the world of chanting, mantra and kirtan, revisiting an old passion in the joy of creating uplifting sound with others.  Since this reconnection, the Ukelele and Celtic Harp have found their way into the musical landscape, supporting the original songs which seem to flow effortlessly now, fuelled by her true inspiration….  That is:  sharing her love of voice and song to create a musical sanctuary, to connect us with others, provide refuge from the busyness of our everyday lives, quieten the mind and leave us with a deep sense of peace and joy.

Michelle has been a dedicated yogi and teacher for nearly 20 years.  She is the owner of the Nambour Yoga Centre on the Sunshine Coast and offers regular classes, retreats and teacher training.  She teaches from the heart, seeing each student as a unique gift with limitless potential.  Michelle infuses yoga asana, breathwork, meditation, mantra and philosophy into her teachings.

Her primary area of study is in Ashtanga Yoga with a focus on a tailored approach to working with the body both for well being and as a form of moving meditation.  She also works with explorations into yin, restorative, Zen Thai Shiatzu bodywork and much more.

Sharon is a passionate yoga teacher and culinary gem who will be sharing some of her delicious and nutritious culinary delights with you on retreat.  Sharon started her culinary journey through a love for nurturing her two children as they were growing up through food (and love of course) to inspire them to eat healthier without sacrificing flavour.

As Sharon stepped into teaching and practicing yoga, this love for food naturally evolved into nourishing yogis on retreats.  You’ll find she puts her heart and soul into nourishing you with attention to detail and everything being provided as fresh as possible and with lots of love.

Nienke is a professional Art & Music Therapist, Nada (sound) Yoga teacher
and singer-songwriter.

She is currently recording her first album. Fusing traditional mantras with English and Dutch lyrics. Her gentle pure soul, open heart, and angelic voice, combined with sweet but powerful melodies will touch you in your deepest parts.

Her mission is to empower individuals and groups to bring out their true authentic selves.  By providing a safe and supportive environment, she encourages people to express themselves in an artistic and musical way, and unite people from all walks of life, through sound and silence.
